Taher al-Nono, advisor to the head of Hamas' political bureau, revealed that the movement and Israel are exchanging lists of prisoners to check through mediators, explaining that Qatar, the United States and Egypt will be guarantors of the ceasefire.

He explained during an interview with Al Jazeera that the date for the start of the truce, which was announced on Wednesday morning, has not been set.

Al-Nuno said that there was a role for the Red Cross and the United Nations in the exchange deal, but did not clarify what the role of the two organizations was, and Hamas had handed over some of its prisoners for humanitarian reasons to the Red Call, who in turn transferred the released prisoners to the Israeli occupation army through the Rafah crossing.

The State of Qatar announced at dawn on Wednesday the success of joint mediation efforts with the United States and fate between Hamas and Israel, as it resulted in reaching an agreement on a humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip that lasts for 4 days, extendable, the timing of which will be announced within the next 24 hours.

He stressed that the movement of Israeli warplanes will stop for 6 hours a day in the northern Gaza Strip during the lull period, and that there will be a complete ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during the truce.

Nono said the agreement includes the delivery of health aid to all Gaza hospitals, and at least 200 to 300 trucks, including 8 fuel trucks, will enter the Strip.

He stressed that the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip will continue beyond the days of the agreement, and that the aid that will enter the Gaza Strip includes basic materials and clothing.

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said the release of the first batch of Hamas prisoners in the Gaza Strip would begin on Thursday, but did not say when exactly when they would be released.
