An event that is held in parallel with the congress of mayors of France where the President of the Republic was once again absent subscribers.

Thanking and reassuring. These are the two objectives that Emmanuel Macron is trying to achieve this Wednesday evening at a cocktail party at the Élysée Palace to which a thousand mayors are invited. A reception that comes after a year 2023 marked by the increase in violence against local elected officials. The President will take the floor to thank the mayors and assure them of the support of the executive in this difficult period.

The Elysée refutes the disagreements

Emmanuel Macron is therefore embarking on a seduction operation while he has once again decided not to deliver the closing speech of the congress of mayors of France which is held in parallel with the Elysian reception. A choice that has not gone unnoticed by some elected officials who find it difficult to digest this absence. To show their discontent, they decided to boycott the cocktail.
