Analysis of recent satellite imagery by Al-Jazeera revealed that the Israeli occupation forces are mainly stationed in the northwest and southwest of Gaza City.

The analysis showed that the Israeli army vehicles were stationed behind earth mounds along the coast of Gaza, in addition to the positioning of Israeli army vehicles inside Gaza City in residential neighborhoods after leveling them to the ground.

According to the images broadcast by Al Jazeera, the red squares in the picture show the gathering points of the occupation army vehicles, while the yellow squares symbolize the earth mounds.

What does it mean?

In his analysis of these recent images, Maj. Gen. Fayez al-Duwairi, a military and strategic expert, said they date back to November 11, meaning they were taken 11 days after the start of the Israeli ground operation inside the Gaza Strip.

He pointed out that the Israeli forces entered from the northwestern axis of the Gaza Strip and took the Rashid road to reach the towers of dignity and intelligence after covering 6 kilometers, mostly agricultural land.

He pointed out that the size of the force that entered from the fence area is estimated by two military brigades, while the area is small and narrow and has a defensive battle, which prompted the occupation army to launch "advanced waiting areas" in order to compensate for the destroyed vehicles and the need to send a replacement to them.

He pointed out that the occupation army set up assembly areas and advanced earth mounds in order to secure temporary protection after the forces coming from the beach camp area turned towards the east and then turned south.

He stressed that the reinforcement points are tasked with reinforcing the vanguards of the Israeli forces, compensating losses and replacing faulty vehicles.

As for the stationing of Israeli army vehicles at an elementary school full of displaced people and around the hospital square, al-Duwairi said that placing them in these areas is aimed at making them human shields.

It is an advanced gathering point placed in sensitive places to prevent the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the resistance factions from targeting them with "Yassin 105" shells, he said.

The explosion of vehicles could harm displaced Palestinians, he said, "so the Israeli army uses schools and hospitals as human shields".

Regarding the assembly areas and earth mounds in southwestern Gaza, specifically in the Sheikh Ajleen neighborhood, the military expert explained that they were built in empty areas where two-thirds of the tank structure is hidden to avoid any strikes from the resistance.

Two days ago, satellite images obtained by Al-Jazeera showed the disappearance of 88 Israeli military vehicles penetrating into the Gaza Strip between November 3 and 8, and Duwairi said they were likely destroyed by the resistance factions.
