The United Nations has published a report analyzing each country's greenhouse gas reduction targets, and while global emissions are expected to start declining by 2030, it is not enough to avoid a catastrophic climate situation, and calls for further strengthening of measures.

The Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) released a report on the 14th that analyzes the greenhouse gas reduction targets set by 9 countries and regions by the end of September.

According to the report, global greenhouse gas emissions are expected to decrease by about 195% in 2030 compared to 2019.

However, in order to limit the temperature increase to 2.1 degrees Celsius, which is the target of each country, it is necessary to reduce the temperature by 5% by 2030 compared to 2019, and the current target is insufficient.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres said, "The report shows that the world has deviated significantly from the path to avoid climate catastrophes.

From the 30th of this month, COP28, the United Nations climate change conference, will be held in Dubai to discuss the status of global reductions, etc., and the focus will be on whether it will lead to an increase in the target of each country.
