Tove is a riding trainer and often takes care of her friend's horses. One horse that she has developed a particularly strong bond with is the chestnut Taste.

When the friend is no longer able to take care of Taste and two other horses, she hands them over to a keeper on a farm outside Heby. Tove is also involved in the handover.

"The keeper had a very good reputation and reputation. A lot of people recommended her," says Tove Eriksson.

When Tove and her friend arrive at the farm, they get the first signals that something isn't right. The keeper meets them outside the yard and does not want them to enter the area.

Receives information about infection

Time passes and Tove receives regular updates that everything is fine. But suddenly, the tone of the messages changes. The keeper says that an infection is spreading on the farm, and that Taste is poisoned.

The keeper doesn't want Tove and her friend to come to the farm, but they go there anyway.

"I was completely shocked. It was incredibly run-down and the horses were so skinny.

Could those of you who had horses on the farm have acted differently?

"In retrospect, you can really feel that you should have done more. They should have checked out this keeper more before, says Tove and continues:

"But we have so many mutual friends with the keeper and we didn't think anything bad about her.

SVT has received confirmation that three horses that have been taken care of at the farm have died. We have reached out to the keeper on several occasions for comment.
