Prime Minister Kishida will depart for the United States on June 15 to attend the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. In Japan, we are making final arrangements to hold a summit meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, which we hope will lead to the construction of a constructive and stable Japan-China relationship.

Prime Minister Kishida will depart for San Francisco on the evening of October 15 to attend the APEC = Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders' Meeting to be held in San Francisco.

At the meeting, which will discuss sustainable economies and other issues, Prime Minister Kishida will emphasize the need for an energy transition to realize a decarbonized society and the importance of promoting fair and transparent trade and investment.

They are also expected to share awareness of the impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on the global economy and call for cooperation among countries to improve the situation.

Prime Minister Kishida is making final arrangements to hold a summit meeting with President Xi Jinping on June 16 (local time).

If realized, it will be the first time in about a year that Prime Minister Kishida will convey Japan's views on outstanding issues between the two countries, including China's suspension of imports of Japan seafood products, the issue of the Senkaku Islands in Okinawa Prefecture, and the detention of Japan nationals one after another.

On the other hand, we would like to confirm that we will cooperate on common issues and continue to communicate in a future-oriented manner, which will lead to the construction of a constructive and stable Japan-China relationship.
