Qatar's Minister of State for International Cooperation Lolwa Al Khater on Tuesday headed Qatar's delegation to Egypt's El Arish and Rafah to deliver an additional aid package to the Palestinian people, according to a statement by the Qatari Foreign Ministry.

The ministry explained that this aid includes a field hospital, shelter supplies, medical and food supplies as part of Qatar's support for the Palestinian people in the difficult humanitarian conditions due to the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

In statements to Qatar News Agency, the minister expressed her thanks for the efforts of the Republic of Egypt in delivering aid to the Palestinian people, noting that she discussed with the Egyptian side the challenges associated with the intransigence of the occupation and the inaction of the international community.

Al-Khater stressed that her country stands with the Palestinian people and supports them to overcome the challenges of the humanitarian catastrophe due to the long blockade and the ongoing aggression, stressing Qatar's efforts with Egypt and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to deliver aid to those who deserve it despite obstacles.

The minister pointed out that Qatar will continue its efforts to break the collective punishment imposed on the Gaza Strip, noting that the coordination of these efforts proceeds as one of the outcomes of the Arab Islamic summit held recently in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry indicated that this delegation included representatives of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, the Qatar Fund for Development, the Qatar Red Crescent and Qatar Charity.

Qatar had previously announced that a number of planes belonging to the Qatari armed forces were heading to the city of Al-Arish in Egypt, carrying food and medical aid and shelter supplies provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, the Qatar Red Crescent and Qatar Charity, in preparation for transporting them to Gaza.
