A U.S. military plane crashed after an accident during a drill in the eastern Mediterranean on Friday evening, a statement issued by the US Military Command in Europe (UPCOM) said in a statement on Saturday.

The U.S. military has not specified the type of plane or where it was flying, but the United States is deploying an aircraft carrier to the region as part of its efforts to prevent the war between Israel and Hamas from turning into a regional conflict.
