International and Israeli newspapers and websites followed the developments of the war in the Gaza Strip, where an American magazine published an article, the author of which saw that the success of the ground invasion of the Gaza Strip is not guaranteed, and will result in heavy human losses, while the newspaper "Times of Israel" published an article, the author of which went on to say that the fighting in Gaza will be bloody, slow and complex.

For the 23rd day, the Israeli army continues to target Gaza with intensive airstrikes that destroyed entire neighborhoods, resulting in the death of more than 8,<> Palestinians, mostly women, children and the elderly, and continued to cut off the supply of water, electricity, food and medicine to the population of Gaza, prompting local and international warnings of a double humanitarian catastrophe.

James Jeffrey wrote an article published in the American magazine "Foreign Affairs" in which he said that the success of the ground invasion of the Gaza Strip is not guaranteed, and will result in heavy human losses even if the campaign is successful, but at the same time he believes that Israel has only bad options, the ground invasion is the least bad, according to his assessment.

The fighting in Gaza will be bloody, slow and complex, the Times of Israel article said, adding that the nature of the environment will provide Hamas with important advantages that the IDF will have to deal with during its incursion, and that it will come at a high cost, but Israel may have no other choice, he said.

Careful study is necessary

The New York Times quoted US officials as saying that Israel's decision to halt its plans for a large-scale invasion of the Gaza Strip, replacing it with limited ground incursions, is in line with proposals that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin recently made to Israeli officials, who stressed the need for careful study of how Israeli forces carry out such an invasion.

Writing in the Washington Post, author Perry Bacon argued that US President Joe Biden's administration should reconsider its policies toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and called on Washington to change its approach and publicly and forcefully call for greater restraint, acting on the basis that the lives of Palestinians and Israelis matter together.

In an editorial, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz wrote that the families of Israeli prisoners held by Hamas are tired of the slogans, and demands that the government declare that the return of prisoners is its most important goal, and the newspaper stressed that the Netanyahu government must release all Palestinian prisoners, and do everything necessary to return the Israeli prisoners immediately.

The British newspaper The Guardian published an article in which the author saw that Israel is facing multiple crises in the presence of a prime minister (Benjamin Netanyahu) who is unpopular at home and is not trusted abroad, pointing out that analysts doubt his ability to fulfill his pledge of complete elimination of Hamas militarily and politically.
