"The deteriorating international situation places higher demands on a good situational picture of the threats and risks that Sweden is facing," writes Defense Minister Pål Jonson (M) on Svenska Dagbladet's debate page together with the defense policy spokespersons Mikael Oscarsson (KD) and Anna Starbrink (L).
"The purpose is to assess, on the basis of the security policy situation, the needs of the Government, authorities and other actors of relevance to Sweden's security and how these needs can be met."
The last similar review was done in the 1990s, Jonson writes.
