An angry mob has stormed the airport of the autonomous Russian republic of Dagestan to hunt down passengers from a plane from Tel Aviv. Videos on social media show a crowd of people running through the airport chanting "Allahu Akbar," apparently overcoming security barriers. Others carried Palestinian flags.

Videos on social media also show dozens of men running onto the tarmac. The arrival of Red Wings flight WZ 4728 from Ben-Gurion Airport was scheduled for 19:00 Moscow time, the plane was delayed and did not land until 19:17, according to media reports. Passengers were apparently instructed to stay on the planes. The aviation authority closed the airport, where security forces are deployed, according to various Russian media.

In the last 24 hours, there have been a number of anti-Semitic incidents in the North Caucasus. In Khasavyurt, Dagestan, a crowd gathered in front of a hotel as rumors circulated that refugees from Israel had allegedly settled there. The police allowed some of those gathered into the building so that they could convince themselves that this was not the case.

A rally was held in the capital of the Caucasus republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, where participants demanded the "expulsion" of the Jews. The Interior Ministry subsequently stated that 34 of the 80 participants had been arrested. In Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, unknown persons set fire to a Jewish cultural center under construction.
