The Qassam Brigades, the military arm of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced on Sunday that its fighters are confronting the Israeli forces penetrating northwest of Beit Lahia (northern Gaza Strip) after infiltrating behind its lines, and that they are engaged in armed clashes with him, at a time when the battalions fired rocket barrages at Tel Aviv.

It added that its fighters targeted Israeli vehicles with "Al-Yassin 105" tandem shells and mortar shells, and carried out sniper operations for the occupation soldiers, and an attempt to land through the beach of Rafah, and also targeted a gathering of enemy vehicles in the American area northwest of Beit Lahia with a Zouari aircraft.

The Anadolu correspondent reported that Israeli warships fired heavily towards the area where Qassam fighters are repelling the incursive Israeli forces.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli occupation army announced that an officer and a soldier were seriously injured in two separate incidents in northern Gaza, the first casualties reported by the army since it began ground operations in Gaza last Friday evening.

Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari announced that the number of soldiers killed since the start of the war has risen to 311, and Israeli prisoners in Gaza to 230, in addition to the evacuation of 125,<> residents of the Gaza envelope and northern Israel on the border with Lebanon, since the beginning of the war.


Bombing of Tel Aviv

The Qassam Brigades also announced that it had bombarded Tel Aviv with a rocket in response to the Israeli massacres of civilians.

For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, confirmed that it shelled crowds of Israeli soldiers near the al-Sreij Gate, the Sanati Gate and the Third Eye site with mortar shells, and shelled Nir Oz and the Miftahim complex with a rocket launch.


Expansion of the ground operation

The IDF said it had gradually begun to expand its ground operation and increase the number of its troops in the northern Gaza Strip, citing the risks it posed to its forces.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said on Saturday that the war with Hamas in Gaza had entered a new phase, after a night of heavy bombardment of the besieged enclave and clashes on the ground with the group's fighters.
