In Odessa, both Russian and Ukrainian are spoken. But since the war broke out, several Odessa residents have begun to speak more and more Ukrainian.

"I went to Russian school and went to college in Russian, but gradually I switched to Ukrainian. I started speaking fluently two and a half months ago," says Iryna, who lives in Odessa.

"I will hardly speak Ukrainian on a daily basis. If I have to fill in documents, I guess I'll have to learn," says Igor, who also lives in Odessa.
