A "lockdown" means, among other things, that the residents must stay inside their apartments, but so far there is no ban on visits to relatives, which NWT was first to report on.

Hagaborg's sheltered housing has 65 apartments, so far about 20 of the residents have been infected in the outbreak that started last week. A few receive hospital care, but no one should be seriously ill.

The infection has also spread among the staff.

"About half of the staff are sick, so it has been a challenge to get the staffing together. Not least in view of the new rules on 11-hour rest, says Jill Mattsson, Operations Manager for the sheltered housing Hagaborg and Våxnäs in Karlstad.

Våxnäs sheltered housing has, after a case of covid-19 was found among the residents, also introduced restrictions.
