The restaurant, located in the southern city of Valence, is called "CHAMAS" and the lighting system that illuminates the first letter "C" seems to have malfunctioned, so only the name "HAMAS" appeared to be lit at night.

The newspaper said that the owner of the restaurant (whose nationality was not specified) assured her that the authorities had indeed come to him and threatened him with closure, and two full patrols were seen next to the restaurant.
The French newspaper quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the police stayed next to the restaurant for two full hours, refusing to stay away, until all the lighting system that illuminates the name of the restaurant is extinguished in full, noting that it was an almost impossible task for the owner of the restaurant, who has no experience in the field of electricity, and he struggled for two hours until he was able to disconnect the electricity from the name of the restaurant.
This "strange" incident provoked ridicule from social media users, who circulated a video showing what the police did, and the talk of some citizens who were laughing and mocking what was going on, and discussing with the police about filming what was happening on the video.
