The Israel Defense Forces have asked the Bundeswehr to hand over medical supplies. This emerges from a letter from the Federal Ministry of Defense, which is available to SPIEGEL. The house of Boris Pistorius (SPD) has already agreed to the request.

From the list, it is clear that the Israelis are preparing for bloody battles. It mainly contains first aid material. Among them: 13,000 pressure dressing sets, 10,000 sets of compresses, 1000 units of decompression needles, 80 infusion injection sets and 2500 thermal blankets.

In addition, dozens of tools for examining the respiratory tract, 500 emergency kits for intubations, 500 resuscitator bags, 5000 kits for emergency splinting and 300 special plasters for wound closure, as well as 50 emergency backpacks for the treatment of respiratory and circulatory problems, but also 50 emergency kits for the care of injured children.

The medical package has a total value of around 189,000 euros. As can be seen from the ministry's letter, Israel intends to pay the cost of the material itself. According to reports, the Israelis wanted it that way, Pistorius' house would have given away the goods free of charge.

Because the Israelis pay themselves, there are no gaps in the defense budget, so the procurement for the Bundeswehr "can be initiated immediately," the paper says. The Bundeswehr would not suffer any disadvantage as a result of the delivery of the medical products, and its operational readiness would not be impaired.

According to SPIEGEL information, the Israelis not only want to pay for the material themselves, they also want to pick it up in Germany themselves.

Soon after the terrorist attack by the radical Islamic Hamas, the German government also pledged military support to Israel's leadership. So far, the German Air Force has provided the two Heron combat drones it borrowed from Israel. German pilots were trained on it in Israel.
