Astana, 10 Oct (ZXS) -- Bishkek news: On 12 October local time, Kyrgyz President Zaparov held talks with visiting Russian President Putin. The leaders of the two countries approved the agreement on the creation of a joint regional air defense system.

During the talks, Zaparov said that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the strategic partnership with Russia, and the two sides confirmed that the direction of strengthening mutual cooperation will not change, and will further expand cooperation in projects in the fields of economy and trade, culture, energy, agriculture and green economy.

Zaparov pointed out that Kyrgyzstan is willing to do its utmost to deepen the integration process between the two countries and will take measures to increase the bilateral trade volume to 50 billion US dollars.

Putin said that Russia appreciates the work done by Kyrgyzstan during its presidency of the CIS, which Russia will assume in 2024.

When talking about economic cooperation, Putin said that Russia is an important trading partner and investor in Kyrgyzstan. The two countries saw a 2022% increase in bilateral trade to US$37.35 billion in 17. Since the first half of this year, bilateral trade has increased by 9.800%.
