Saleh al-Aruri, deputy head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirmed that the operation Al-Aqsa flood, which was started by the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, came in anticipation of an attack that Israel intended to launch on the Gaza Strip immediately after the end of the Jewish holidays, and said that the defensive plan for the operation is stronger than the offensive plan that stunned Israel and surprised the world.

Al-Arouri revealed that the Al-Aqsa flood plan was based on the storming of the Gaza envelope by 122 Qassam operatives, and attacking the "Gaza Division" responsible for the siege of the Gaza Strip and the assassinations and killings carried out against Palestinians in the Strip.

Although the plan expected "the battles with the Gaza Division to continue for long hours, the Qassam fighters were surprised when the entire division collapsed within a few hours, and were able to easily reach its command center, the airport, the kibbutzim and the nearby settlements," after the surviving Israeli soldiers escaped, while many were killed and captured.

The Hamas official stressed that the instructions of the Qassam fighters were from the beginning to abide by the instructions of the Islamic religion in wars, namely not to kill civilians, women, children and the elderly, not to harm people's civilian interests, and only to fight soldiers and militants.

However, according to al-Arouri, some Gazans heard about the collapse of the border with the Gaza envelope, they rushed to enter the Gaza envelope, and there was some chaos, while some Qassam fighters were forced to clash with some security guards and gunmen in the settlements, which led to civilian deaths.

He stressed that Hamas "cannot harm civilians or prisoners and acts in accordance with the laws of international war," and that the West, which accuses the Palestinian resistance of committing crimes against humanity, ignores that the war launched by Israel against them was based on targeting civilians, stressing that the Palestinians are fighting for the world to recognize their right to live on the territory of their state like the rest of the world.

The Hamas official criticized the American and Western position in support of Israel in the war it is waging on the Gaza Strip, saying, "America and Europe committed the first crime by handing over the land of Palestine to the Jews, and now they see themselves forced to continue to cover up and protect their crime in a barbaric, hypocritical and criminal manner."

He added that the Arab region did not know religious wars, but it was the West that gave birth to all extremist ideologies.

Regarding Hamas' vision of war scenarios in light of the continuous Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip, al-Arouri stressed that "the defensive plan of the resistance is much stronger than the offensive plan and the occupation knows that," stressing that the occupation was unable to reach the military structure of the resistance, and "therefore resorted to targeting civilians to cover its failure and the shame it has suffered since the start of the Al-Aqsa flood."

On the issue of Israeli prisoners held by the resistance, he stressed that Hamas settled the matter from the beginning, stressing that this file will not be opened until after the end of the battle, and pointed out that some Israeli prisoners were killed by the Israeli bombardment, explaining that the Hannibal doctrine adopted by the occupation is based on the right of the Israeli army to kill its prisoners and their prisoners.

Al-Arouri was surprised by the demand of America and Western countries for their citizens among the prisoners, and said that the Qassam captured Israeli soldiers wearing Israeli military uniforms and carrying weapons to kill Palestinians, and added, "How can it be found that these soldiers are Americans, French and Italians," and denounced the West's accusation of Hamas after that as "ISIS."

It is noteworthy that the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades launched on Saturday morning, October 7, a large-scale military operation against Israel, called "Al-Aqsa Flood", in response to the continuous attacks launched by the occupation forces on Palestinians.
