In his post, Kadyrov calls Zhuravel an agent of the SBU who burned the Holy Quran. According to him, even before his arrest, he was prepared for such dialogues and repeated the phrase that he was gradually approaching the adoption of Islam.

"I firmly doubted the sincerity of his desire when he lied and tried to cheat on other topics, again and again smoothly shifting the conversation to the fact that in the future, perhaps, he would want to become a Muslim," the head of the republic said.

He added that the lack of certainty and attempts to avoid direct answers "betrayed a real devil in him" who "burned the Koran deliberately, wanting to insult Muslims and pit religions against each other in Russia."

"This is a pronounced provocateur and saboteur who acted in the style of the European special services, whom the West will want to present as a champion of democracy and freedom of speech," Kadyrov said.

On May 20, investigators opened a criminal case on the fact of insulting the religious feelings of believers due to the burning of the Koran in Volgograd. The detainee filmed the burning of the holy book on camera.

During the interrogation, he confessed that he had acted on the instructions of the special services of Ukraine for a reward of 10 thousand rubles.

The Investigative Committee transferred the case to the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for Chechnya.

Later, the court arrested Zhuravel.
