This is the first judgment of one of the Bolsonarists who ransacked the places of power - the presidential palace, the Parliament and the Supreme Court itself - a week after the inauguration of leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
More than 230 charged
Aecio Lucio Costa Pereira, 51, who according to the Brazilian press is a former employee of the Sao Paulo state water treatment company, was convicted of a total of five crimes, including damage to classified public property, attempted coup d'état and criminal association.
In total, the Brazilian prosecutor's office has prosecuted 232 people.
