Luo Dongchuan, deputy secretary of the Fujian Provincial CPC Committee, said at the press conference held by the State Council Information Office on 9 September that Fujian has vigorously promoted the implementation of equal treatment for Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan enterprises, improved the construction of public service platforms for Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan enterprises, and smoothed channels for Taiwan compatriots to participate in endowment insurance, basic medical insurance, housing provident fund, and affordable housing applications, and continuously enhanced Taiwan compatriots' sense of happiness, gain, and security.

On 9 September, the Information Office of the State Council of China held a press conference in Beijing, at which Pan Xianzhang, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee; Cong Liang, vice minister of the National Development and Reform Commission; and Luo Dongchuan, deputy secretary of the Fujian Provincial CPC Committee, introduced the "Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Supporting Fujian in Exploring a New Road for Cross-Strait Integrated Development and Building a Cross-Strait Integrated Development Demonstration Zone," and answered reporters' questions. Luo Dongchuan emphasized that on this basis, the "Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Supporting Fujian to Explore a New Road for Cross-Strait Integrated Development and Build a Cross-Strait Integrated Development Demonstration Zone" clearly states that it is necessary to introduce measures to make it more convenient for Taiwan compatriots to live in Fujian, for example, cancel the temporary residence registration of Taiwan compatriots in Fujian, realize the "wish to be fulfilled" when Taiwan compatriots settle down in Fujian, expand the scope of application of Taiwan residents' residence permit identity verification, and strive to realize that Taiwan residents' residence permits and mainland resident identity cards are equally convenient in society. That is, it should be as convenient to use, and we are also studying how to make the application scenarios and convenience of Taiwan compatriots' residence permits reach the same level as ID cards. It is also necessary to continuously improve the system guarantees for Taiwan compatriots' employment, medical treatment, housing, old-age services, and social assistance in Fujian, and incorporate Taiwan compatriots in Fujian into the mainland's social security system in accordance with laws and regulations.
