A home for berry pickers in Los was closed after Ljusdal municipality carried out an environmental inspection. According to the municipality's inspectors on site, parts of the property were mold infested – and it was "difficult to breathe" in the premises.

The berry pickers have left the property

SVT Nyheter Gävleborg visited the property on Thursday. Today, no people still live in the condemned apartments, but in other places in Los and in the village of Tandsjöborg a few miles away.

Chantima Chanayotha works with cooking for the berry pickers – she says that 50 people shared a total of four toilets in the now closed property.

"The problem is that there's something wrong with the temperature of the water, it's just cold," she says.

SVT stopped by the company's CEO

When SVT meets up with a bunch of berry pickers in the forests outside Los so acts Örjan Berglund, CEO of Norrskensbär AB.

He contacts the supervisor by phone. The supervisor says after he has been told that SVT is not allowed to do any interviews.

We have reached out to Örjan Berglund at Norrskensbär AB for a comment but without results.
