After several decades of opposition to nuclear power within the Social Democratic Youth League, SSU, they are now pivoting on the issue of nuclear power. Late on Saturday night, it was voted through that SSU is now in favor of nuclear power, in the short term.

"In the long term, when we have new technology in place, we want people to invest in what is renewable, but in the short term we want to use the nuclear power we have," says Lisa Nåbo, president of SSU.

During this weekend's SSU congress at Louis De Geer concert & congress in Norrköping, the youth organization's action plan was voted through that they now want to provide support for all fossil-free energy proposals, including nuclear power, to cope with the climate transition.
