After washing, she took the subway and traveled through the ancient city of Suzhou to Suzhou Eslite Bookstore. Cleaning the desktop, sorting stationery and books, guiding guests, and accompanied by the smell of books, Liu Yuyang began a new day of internship life.

The 2023 Suzhou Internship and Employment Training Camp for Taiwan College Students opened in Suzhou on July 7. Within a month, more than ten young Taiwanese were assigned to different internship positions to discover Suzhou and learn about the mainland during their work.

As a book-loving girl, Liu Yuying liked to read mainland novels when she was in Taiwan, and was very interested in the historical stories in the books and the cultural style of the mainland. To this end, Liu Yuying specially applied for the Chinese language and literature major of Nanchang University. In her spare time, she would walk around the places featured in the book to "discover the unique charm of Chinese culture."

Talking about the internship, Liu Yuying said: "Eslite Bookstore is a well-known chain bookstore on the island, and this time I can intern at Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, and I feel a sense of intimacy. In the future, I want to stay in the mainland to work in publishing and editing, and I hope to take this internship in the bookstore to have a deeper understanding of the mainland book market. ”

Liao Kaihui, from a cross-strait marriage family, is a junior student in the Department of International Economics and Trade of Zhengzhou University. Growing up in Taicang, Suzhou, and studying in Taiwan in middle school, Liao had to choose between her two hometowns. "After thinking about it carefully, I felt that I still preferred the diet and environment of the mainland, so I chose to study in the mainland to study. Some of Liao Kaihui's friends on the island love to watch mainland TV dramas and variety shows, and are full of curiosity about the mainland. Liao Kaihui will also tell them about her internship experience and travel experience in Suzhou, and encourage everyone to share the development opportunities of the mainland.

Jinan University student Fan Pingxuan is interning at BenQ Dentsu, a Taiwanese company, along with five other Taiwanese university students, three of whom are coming to the mainland for the first time. "As soon as we come here, the Taiwan Affairs Office and the Taiwan Association will help everyone to apply for bank cards, and we will teach students who are visiting the mainland for the first time to bind Alipay and recommend mobile apps commonly used in the mainland." Today, the group takes a taxi to their place of work through "Didi Chuxing" in the morning, and uses "Meituan" to order a few dishes of mainland food in the evening. Taiwanese college students are full of praise for the convenience of mainland mobile payment methods and mobile apps.
