This was announced by the representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric.

"As part of ongoing efforts in this direction, the Secretary General sent a letter yesterday to Russian President Vladimir Putin, outlining a proposal aimed at improving the implementation of the memorandum of understanding in order to preserve the Black Sea Initiative," TASS quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Putin had made a number of proposals regarding the grain deal.

On July 10, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the efforts of UN representatives did not help improve the situation with the implementation of the Russian part.

He stressed that the Russian part of the agreements was not fulfilled "in any of its paragraphs."
