Perm police detained Igor Korchagin, a trainer of the Great Moscow Circus, accused of brutally beating, who fell into a coma after a brawl with employees of a private security company in the House of Artists of the Sputnik Circus on the night of July 3. The detainee is charged under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm with the use of an object used as a weapon. The detention was reported to RT in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Perm Territory.

"Thanks to the competent actions of the operatives, the accused, born in 2003, was detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center. The investigation of the criminal case continues," the ministry said in an official statement.

The press service added that the defendant was charged in absentia and a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen.

In the footage of the interrogation, published on the official website of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the accused said that he did not know why he was detained, and refused to comment on the situation in any way.

In turn, the general director of the Great Moscow Circus, Edgard Zapashny, noted in his Telegram channel that the accused was allegedly detained in Kyrgyzstan. According to some reports, after the incident with the circus performers, the alleged attacker went first to Yekaterinburg, and then left the country and was put on the international wanted list.

Recall that on the night of July 3, a brawl broke out in a dormitory for circus artists in Perm, in which Igor Korchagin, a camel trainer from the Great Moscow Circus, was seriously injured. Late in the evening, employees of private security companies were summoned to the dormitory, then a conflict presumably arose between the guests and the employees of security companies who arrived at the scene.

"At about 23:00, the rapid response team that arrived at the hotel of the Perm Circus staged a real gangster showdown using pepper spray, batons and traumatic pistols," Edgard Zapashny wrote in his Telegram channel.

"The state of health is improving"

The governor of the Perm region, Dmitry Makhonin, who took the investigation of the incident under his personal control, visited the Perm State Circus to discuss the situation. During the meeting, it became known that the attacker who beat Korchagin probably left the country. In addition, as a result of the meeting, additional security was assigned to the circus dormitory.

According to RT, on the night of July 3, employees of the Perm security companies "Jaguar" and "Cerberus", as well as the private security company "Opora", which serves the building under the contract, came to the Perm hostel for circus artists. After the incident, the police came to all three security companies. Whether the person detained on charges of beating Korchagin worked in any of them is not specified.

Earlier, in an interview with RT, the director of the Jaguar private security company, Eduard Perevozchikov, claimed that initially the guests of the hostel themselves showed aggression towards the guards. They allegedly attacked two arrived employees of the private security company "Opora" and drove them into the basement, after which they called for reinforcements.

A similar version was voiced by the representative of "Support" Andrei Shansherov. According to him, after the attack of the guests of the hostel, his employees had to go to medical institutions, where they recorded their injuries. Shansherov also claimed that the trainer Korchagin allegedly received injuries not from the guards, but from the guests themselves during the fight.

Cerberus assured RT that their employees, together with representatives of the Jaguar private security company, arrived at the scene after a mass brawl, so they soon left the hostel.

Trainer Igor Korchagin, who came to Perm on tour, was urgently hospitalized with severe head injuries, after the incident in the hostel, the man fell into a coma.

"Diagnosis: severe brain contusion. Planar subdural hematomas on both sides. Fracture of the base of the skull on the left. Fracture of the occipital bone. Cerebral edema. Coma," Edgard Zapashny listed the trainer's injuries in his Telegram channel.

According to Igor Korchagin's friend Leonid Olkhovikov, now Korchagin's condition is gradually improving, but the interlocutor of RT could not tell more about his health.
