It was on Monday that the police, emergency services and ambulance were alerted to Andra Långgatan in Gothenburg after an explosion at a tavern. Windows were crossed and the restaurant was filled with smoke. The National Bomb Squad was also called.

Prosecutor: There are several interesting people

A man in his 20s was arrested and arrested shortly thereafter, suspected of aggravated public destruction and aggravated violation of the Flammable and Explosive Goods Act. On Wednesday, the man was requested to be remanded in custody.

"He is a suspect on probable grounds," prosecutor Mats Ihlbom said.

What can you tell us about the person?

"I don't want to comment on that at the moment.

Could more people be suspected of involvement in the explosion?

"It's impossible to say, but there are several interesting people that we are looking at," the prosecutor said.

The Defender: Denies any wrongdoing

Detention hearings will be held on Thursday. The man denies the crime, his defense lawyer says.

"His position is that he denies any wrongdoing and denies any involvement in what is alleged," said Suzanne El Khayat Ali, the man's public defender.

Link to previous attacks

Last week there were two attacks on restaurants in Gothenburg. One in Kortedala and the other on Andra Långgatan in Gothenburg, where there was a family relationship that links the two restaurants to each other.

As SVT Nyheter Väst previously reported, the same family relationship can be linked to the tavern that was subjected to an explosion on Monday.
