In his address, the political scientist noted that at present in Russia there is a single emergency call number - 112, on which any citizen around the clock and regardless of the region of residence can call the police, fire department, ambulance and emergency gas service.

At the same time, in case of communal accidents in the households of citizens (rupture of water supply pipes, shutdown of heating in winter, emergency situations with electricity supply), there is no such single short number.

As a rule, each municipality has its own standard stationary number of the emergency dispatch service of housing and communal services.

According to Orlov, not every citizen is able to remember or quickly find this number in an emergency.

As a result, the property of a citizen, as well as the property of third parties, may suffer excessive damage, which could have been avoided with prompt appeal for help, the interlocutor of RT noted.

"In this regard, I ask you to consider the advisability of creating a single universal short number in the Russian Federation to call emergency utilities," the text of the appeal says.

Earlier, the State Duma supported the increase in fines for non-admission of gas workers to apartments.
