Applications to undergraduate programmes have increased by 6.7 per cent and the same trend can be seen nationally, with this year's applications being the highest since autumn 2014.

"Our two years as a university attract more people who want to create their future compared to the normal situation before the pandemic," says Susan Sahlberg, Head of the Division for Admissions and Degrees at MDU.

The nursing programme attracted the most

The programmes with the most applications at Mälardalen University are the Nursing Programme with 2,074 applicants at undergraduate level, the Special Education Programme with 587 applicants at postgraduate level, and Labour Law with 1,815 applicants at independent level.

The number of distance education courses is also increasing. There, Mälardalen University accounts for two of the most popular programmes on the top 20 list. "Labour law" qualifies in place five and "Developing organizations and leadership" in place 20.
