"For 150 children, we are now looking with lights and lanterns for somewhere to be," says Marit Persson, head of administration at the education administration.

"It's sad. Everything is destroyed," says Linn Eriksson, a student at the school.

Two children are suspected of being behind the fire

About 450 students attend the F-6 school in central Alvesta, which burned on Tuesday. The fire is being investigated as aggravated arson and two children under the age of 15 are suspects. How the fire started is still unclear.

"It is unclear if we will be able to do a forensic examination at the scene, it may be too damaged by fire," said police spokesman in Region South, Robert Loeffel.

Parts of primary school premises completely destroyed

"Six classrooms were destroyed in the fire. A home science room was damaged when a fire street was demolished and so are a number of more or less water damaged.

Above all, it is the primary school's premises that have been affected by Tuesday's fire and some parts have been completely destroyed.

"But it is not certain that we are moving to primary school. We have to think organisationally when it comes to which year groups and classes get new premises, depending on which premises we can develop," says Marit Persson.
