"The Ministry of Transport of Russia is not working with either Aviagarant JSC or any other company to create a reserve fund to assist passengers in the event of bankruptcy of airlines. The information published today in the media, in particular about the idea of charging additional fees from passengers in order to fill this fund, is not true, "the agency quotes TASS.

The ministry also noted that leading Russian airlines opposed the creation of such a fund.

Earlier, the Kommersant newspaper reported that the Ministry of Transport is discussing the idea of an additional fee from passengers when purchasing plane tickets.

Allegedly, it was about creating a "reserve fund to support passengers" in case of bankruptcy of the airline.
