The summer holidays serve to enjoy a few well-deserved days of rest escaping from the usual routine, but the previous preparations can be a real nightmare. The stress of preparing suitcases is added to having to consider which destination to go to or if it is preferable to go by plane instead of taking the car to get to the destination. Spain has about 8,000 kilometers of coastline bathed between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Each beach is different from each other; different types of climate, sand, sea, and above all, an infinity of wines that can be your travel companions this vacation. Therefore, we bring you the ten best beaches in Spain and their pairings with the wines of 'Bodega Cuatro Rayas' so that this summer you do not have to think more about where to go or what to drink during those days of disconnection.

1. (ASTURIAS) PLAYA DEL SILENCIO AND CUATRO RAYAS VERDEJO NIGHT HARVEST

Playa del Silencio is a beach of great beauty located in the council of Cudillero, on the Asturian coast. It is a secluded and quiet beach, surrounded by cliffs and forests, which makes it the perfect place to enjoy a 'Cuatro Rayas Vendimia Nocturna Verdejo'. This elaboration of Cuatro Rayas is pale yellow with greenish reflections with a powerful smell on the nose, but balanced and fresh on the palate; In short, a great wine that you can not miss if you want to enjoy the tranquility of the sea.

2. (BALEARIC ISLANDS) MACARELLA AND FOUR STRIPES ORGANIC ROSÉ

On the south coast of the island of Menorca, near the city of Ciutadella, is the beach of Macarella. The water is crystal clear and has an intense turquoise blue tone that invites you to bathe and enjoy the sun. One of the main attractions of Macarella beach is the path that

leads to the neighbouring beach of Macarelleta, which is even more intimate, such as the 'Cuatro Rayas Organic Rosé'. The road is a bit steep, but worth the walk to reach this beautiful beach.

'Cuatro Rayas Organic Rosé' is a pale pink wine reminiscent of the crystal clear water of the Balearic Islands. This modern rosé, with notes of fruit on the nose, is the perfect complement while enjoying the Macarella.

3. (CANTABRIA) PLAYA DE LA ARNÍA AND CUATRO RAYAS ORGANIC TEMPRANILLO

In the heart of Liencres you can find the beach of Arnía. A beach of fine sand without any interruption that can be visited while having a glass of 'Cuatro Rayas Organic Tempranillo'. This beach belongs to the Costa Quebrada Geological Park for its unique geological characteristics. This geopark is an area of special environmental interest, in addition to being an ideal place to observe all the biodiversity that inhabits this beach, in tune with this 100% tempranillo wine.

4. (CANARY ISLANDS) BENIJO BEACH AND '61 VERDEJO ALE'

To the north of the island of Tenerife is the most photogenic sandy area of the Canary Islands. Like the rest of the beaches in that area, they are of volcanic origin and, therefore, of black sand, which makes it a unique and different place, like the beer '61 Verdejo ALE'. This elaboration of 'Cuatro Rayas' is created through the fusion of malt and hops with the must of the Verdejo grape, giving rise to a beer in which the freshness of the grape is the protagonist. This beach is a good starting point to explore the surroundings, such as the nearby mountain trails, but if you are not able to decide between the sea or the mountain; '61 Verdejo ALE' will not be a problem because it combines the best of wine with beer.

5. (BASQUE COUNTRY) ITZURUN BEACH AND FORTY SAUVIGNON BLANC VINTAGES

Itzurun beach is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in the Basque Country, in the province of Guipúzcoa. It is a popular destination because in addition to its natural beauty, Itzurun beach has served as the setting for great series such as Game of Thrones, not to mention its rocky outcrops that have great historical value. The historical relevance is also present in the vineyards of more than 30 years with which the 'Cuarenta Vendimias Sauvignon Blanc' is made. This wine is made following the personal recipe of the current winemaker of the winery, Elena M. Oyagüe and is perfect for this historic enclave in the Basque Country.

To the northeast of the peninsula, in Salou, is the Penya Tallada beach. Despite its natural beauty, Penya Tallada beach is not well known among tourists and remains largely off the beaten track, giving it an air of exclusivity and authenticity, such as 'Cuatro Rayas Cuarenta Vendimias Verdejo'.

This elaboration of 'Bodega Cuatro Rayas' has been created following the recipe and the indications of the winemaker, Ángel Calleja, and that serves as a tribute to the legacy that the winemaker has infused in Cuatro Rayas throughout the 40 vintages he has lived.

Matalascañas beach is one of the best beaches in Andalucia. Through this straw yellow wine with greenish reflections, Bodega Cuatro Rayas catalyzes its green & social philosophy, a commitment of the cooperative winery that ensures respect for the environment and for those who live in it, oriented its focus of attention towards the well-being of people.

EXTRA: PISUERGA BEACH and PISUERGA 2020

Castilla y León has a beach. On the banks of the river Pisuerga as it passes through Valladolid has left one of the few inland river beaches in Spain. In the waters of this beach, in 1602, the first diver's suit in history was tested. 'Cuatro Rayas' wanted to commemorate this historical event with its wine 'Pisuerga 2020', a countercurrent wine that highlights that the Pisuerga River carries water, although the Douro takes the fame.

'Pisuerga 2020' is born from the selection of the oldest glasses in Valladolid to move on to the manual harvest with double selection, one in the field and another winery. After aging the wine for 18 months in concrete egg with its lees, only 2,643 units are bottled, which makes Pisuerga 2020 a collector's wine.

'Bodega Cuatro Rayas' offers an infinity of wines to accompany your trips this summer, regardless of whether you are more north or south.
