On surfaces made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard, plywood and other materials from which packaging boxes are made, the pathogen can remain viable only for a short time, "the press service of the department said.
Rospotrebnadzor specialists are now carrying out a full range of sanitary and anti-epidemic measures at the OZON distribution center.
"For people who have received parcels from OZON distribution centers, there is no risk of contracting meningococcal infection," they stressed.
To date, seven cases of meningococcal infection have been detected in Yekaterinburg among employees of the OZON distribution center.
