"The bombs are used far beyond the southern area, but they are built here. There is a tradition and a know-how in our area, says deputy regional police chief Jarl Holmström, to SVT Nyheter Skåne.

The number of blasts in police area south has increased over the past year. Most blasts have taken place in northwestern Skåne, especially in Helsingborg and the surrounding area. This is shown by the latest statistics from the police.

The evidence is blown away

"The blasts often come in droves and are used as threats in serious organized crime to send signals to other criminals," says Deputy Regional Police Chief Jarl Holmström.

The clearance rate of blasts or similar crimes is relatively low, according to the police.

"These crimes are often difficult to solve because you blow up the evidence. Criminals can carry out a serious threat with the help of blasts without having to confront or meet their opponent, says Deputy Regional Police Chief Jarl Holmström.
