In the middle of rush hour traffic on October 20 last year, shots were fired that created panic and traffic chaos in the Björktunneln tunnel at Gullmarsplan in Stockholm. Police, emergency services and an ambulance were alerted to the scene. At the scene, a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound was found who died of his injuries.

Police were able to quickly arrest three men in their 20s at the scene. They were later arrested and detained on suspicion of murder. All three, including the murdered 21-year-old, are residents of Eskilstuna.

"All three have denied any wrongdoing and blamed each other," says Daniel Jonsson.

Camera surveillance in tunnel

The suspicions against two of the three men have dropped and there are no longer sufficient reasons for them to be detained with restrictions, according to the prosecutor.

However, the suspicions against one of the men, a 19-year-old man, have been strengthened. In addition to the murder, he is suspected of aggravated weapons offences.

"It involves forensic evidence, interrogation data, camera surveillance from the tunnel and an overall picture that has strengthened the suspicions.

"No mistake"

He does not want to say a motive for the murder but says that it has not been a mistake, something that has previously been written about in the media.

"It's a premeditated murder but I can't go into exactly what happened," he said.
