The accident occurred late in the evening on an autumn day two years ago. When the teenage boy did not come home, relatives went out to search.

The forensic report states that the teenager's injuries were directly life-threatening and if he had not been found in time, there would have been "a significant risk that he would have died".

Denies the deed

Glass and plastic parts were found on the side of the road. The parts could be linked to a particular car brand, which led investigators to the vehicle with damage to both the right front and the lights.

The driver was sentenced in Greetingsland District Court for aggravated hit-and-run from the scene of a traffic accident to a suspended sentence and 80 daily fines totalling SEK 12,000.

The man in his 40s denies the crime.
