Responding Tuesday to a question from Renaissance MP Thomas Rudigoz who denounced the violence that occurred between police and environmental activists during the demonstration against the Lyon-Turin rail link, the Minister of the Interior defended the decree dissolving the SLT by arguing that "no cause justifies the injury of police and gendarmes".
The Earth Uprisings on Tuesday denounced a "very political and particularly worrying dissolution", after the confirmation by the government that it would take place Wednesday in the Council of Ministers. This dissolution was "demanded directly from the head of state by agribusiness and the FNSEA" and "trying to silence the Earth Uprisings is a vain attempt to break the thermometer rather than worry about the temperature," said the radical environmental movement in a statement.
