An Israeli settler was slightly injured after his vehicle was shot at while it was passing near the "Beit Hagai" settlement, east of Hebron. Meanwhile, international condemnations continued for the statements of an Israeli minister calling for the erasure of the Palestinian village of Hawara.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that the Star of David medical staff transferred the 65-year-old settler to Shaare Zedek Hospital to receive further treatment after they provided him with field treatment for an injury she described as minor.

She added that the occupation forces began searching and sweeping operations in search of one or more outlets for shooting, suggesting that the incident was due to a national background.

international condemnations

On the other hand, Palestine welcomed the international positions condemning the call of the Israeli Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, to erase the Palestinian village of Hawara, in the northern West Bank.

"We welcome the international reactions to the statements of the terrorist Smotrich," Hussein al-Sheikh, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, said in a tweet.

He called for forcing the occupation government to stop its continuous aggressive measures of raids, settlements, killings, and others.

And last Wednesday, Smotrich, the far-right, said that the village of Hawara must be erased, "and I believe that the State of Israel should do this, not ordinary individuals."

Several countries and organizations condemned Smotrich's statements, including the United States, France, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Jordan, the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Israel did not comment on the statements of international condemnation against the minister, and Smotrich's statements did not receive a comment from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, either by rejection or acceptance.

And last Sunday, Hawara, south of Nablus, witnessed unprecedented attacks by Israeli settlers, which resulted in the death of a Palestinian, the injury of dozens of others, and the burning and destruction of dozens of homes and cars, after two settlers were killed in a shooting near the town.

UN High Commissioner Volker Türk condemned the Israeli minister's remarks, which he described as "unacceptable" and urged an end to the violence.

Türk, who was speaking at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, described Smotrich's call as an "unimaginable declaration of incitement to hatred and violence."

In his speech to the Council on Friday, Türk presented the latest report of his office on the situation in the occupied territories, and said that "the escalation of violence is pushing innocent people on all sides into new tragedies, with the terrible logic or rather the illogicality of the continuation of the confrontation."
