According to Politico, Joly said this during a visit to Warsaw a day after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The minister said that the Canadian side is ready to support the idea of the Western allies to create a special tribunal.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister of Italy Antonio Tajani said that the Italian authorities would support the creation of a special tribunal for Ukraine.
The Russian Permanent Mission to the EU stated that the European Union and its member states do not have the right to establish any international courts to prosecute the leaders of third countries.
The diplomatic mission recalled that only the UN Security Council has the competence to create international tribunals.
