Putin stressed that Russia had analyzed and taken into account the experience gained during the peacekeeping operation in Kazakhstan.

“Russia, of course, supports the important decision submitted for our approval to equip the peacekeeping forces of the organization with modern weapons, military and special equipment, as well as special means,” the Russian leader said at the CSTO summit.

In January, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the stay of the CSTO peacekeeping contingent in Kazakhstan was short-term, but effective.

On January 19, the Ministry of Defense announced that all peacekeepers, military equipment and weapons of the CSTO forces contingent that were performing tasks in Kazakhstan had returned to Russia.
