After five years of work, the most famous bell in the world was once again heard in the streets of the English capital.

A sound show, but also a visual one, appreciated by many Londoners and tourists, who have seen the soul of London reborn in a way.

Big Ben gives the clock back to Londoners!

After five years of work and near silence, Britain's most famous bell has been ringing again since Sunday evening.

It was at 11 p.m., on Remembrance Sunday, the day of remembrance commemorating all British soldiers who died in combat, that the bells were heard.

They sounded to the delight of Londoners and tourists, who came to listen to the famous song of Big Ben.

"It's very British"

"We found ourselves in the middle of a crowd since it's the first time that Big Ben has sounded in five years", explains this Frenchwoman.

"Me, I was there when Big Ben stopped ringing and there, I came back for the eleven strokes of 11 o'clock, it's great."

It is a symbol that is reborn in the capital, and the English are also well aware of it, they who had considered losing part of their city when Big Ben was extinguished.

"You have the Eiffel Tower, we have Big Ben", summarizes a resident.

"It's very British and attached to Parliament," says another.

"She is the mother of all parliaments and we are very proud of her."

After five years, this Briton revels in seeing the famous Elizabeth Tower clock in its best light.

"She's beautiful and golden. It's beautiful to see."

A real sight and sound spectacle for Londoners: "It was good to hear it again, it's going to sound good and it looks good too."

Big Ben's chime will now ring as if it never stopped, every hour of the day.
