  On the night of September 18, 1931, the Japanese Kwantung Army blew up a section of the Nanman-Manchurian Railway near Liutiao Lake in the northern suburbs of Shenyang, falsely accusing it of being the Chinese army, and then bombarded the Northeast Army's garrison North Camp and attacked Shenyang City.

The "September 18 Incident" that shocked China and foreign countries broke out and officially opened the prelude to the 14-year-old Chinese people's war of resistance.
