“At the working level, yes, at the political level, no,” RIA Novosti quotes Chekunkov’s answer to the question whether he sees signs of the return of a full-fledged dialogue between Russia and Japan.

According to him, the lack of dialogue at the political level is explained by the fact that it is formed by “one state that is at war with the sovereign independent countries of the Eastern Hemisphere, which acts as a colonial empire in the Western Hemisphere, and in the Eastern Hemisphere opposes the development of economies, technologies, societies and an independent view of things of other countries.

He added that Russia needs to wait for the restoration of a full-fledged dialogue.

Chekunkov also said that delegations from South Korea and Japan would arrive at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
