Agents of the National Police have arrested
nine individuals, five of them minors,
as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of homicide and belonging to a criminal organization.
All of them were related to
the violent Dominicans Don't Play
(DDP) street gang.
The events occurred just a year ago, in August 2021, when the assailants passed a 20-year-old boy in the street who, in front of them,
used an expression
used by the violent youth group Blood.
The young man continued on his way, met some friends and entered the house of one of them, where a party was being held.
He did not realize that
he had been followed by the DDP
, who did not hesitate to knock on the door of the house.
After opening, they invited the 20-year-old boy out.
Although he insisted on several occasions that
he did not belong to any street gang
, and that he only wanted to have fun at the party, he began an intense struggle.
The victim did not expect that
the DDPs were carrying knives.
During the fight, the victim was stabbed in addition to other injuries caused by a machete when she tried to defend herself.
She finally took refuge in the house where the rest of her friends were, although her injuries caused her to
lose her life shortly after her.
The agents immediately moved to the scene where the first investigations began.
After
an arduous year of investigation
, numerous data were collected that managed to end with the identification of the entire group of aggressors.
In matters of Latin gangs
it is not easy to find witnesses
who have the courage to speak, even so the Police have managed that of the four arrested adults, three of them are already in prison.
And of the five minors, four are in detention centers and the rest are on probation.
