Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yasutoshi Nishimura visited Yasukuni Shrine, where Class A war criminals were enshrined, Kyodo News reported on the morning of the 13th.

It is the first time that incumbent ministers have visited Yasukuni Shrine since Fumio Kishida's cabinet was established in October of last year.

After the inauguration of the Kishida cabinet, there was a ceremonial ceremony in the fall of last year and in the spring of this year, but at that time, neither Prime Minister Kishida nor any of the cabinet members visited the Yasukuni Shrine.

At Yasukuni Shrine, 14 Class A war criminals of the Pacific War, including Hideki Tojo, are enshrined.
