- There has been no talk in the last few days other than how the country will cope with the record temperatures, Marçal says.

According to her, the government has recommended a number of precautionary measures to cope with the heat wave.

- Especially if you are at risk, like many older or small children, it is recommended to stay at home and to avoid traveling.

Many schools close earlier and they have closed quite long stretches of railway in the areas that will be hottest.

A new heat record can be felt in Sweden

According to the British meteorological institute Met office, the expected 40-degree temperatures could mean a new heat record.

The previous record in the country was in July 2019 when it became 38.7 degrees hot.

According to SVT's meteorologist Henrik Reimer, the heat can also be felt in Sweden.

- The heat will move away during Tuesday to Wednesday.

We get a little massage here in Sweden, not 40 degrees but at least up to the 30 degree mark and then it gets a little cooler in the UK, he says.
