The project is owned by the municipality-owned Tekniska verket.

Preliminary studies have been going on for several years, but now it is expected that the first sod will be taken in 2023 and that the facility will be in use by 2025.

Through Klimatklivet, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency pays for part of the project, but a maximum of 134 million.

According to calculations, the plant will reduce emissions by 77,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents per year.
