Fujairah Hospital doctors save the life of a patient by removing a meningioma from the brain

 The medical-surgical team at Fujairah Hospital of the Emirates Corporation for Health Services succeeded in successfully removing a skull tumor and implanting an artificial piece of a woman with a benign meningioma in the brain using 3D printing technology.

The tests and CT scans of the patient showed a gap in the bones of the skull, which required the installation of a special prosthesis, as the hospital cooperated with a specialized health authority in the United States of America to design a prosthetic piece made of polyethylene ketone using 3D printing technology.

The neurosurgeons at Fujairah Hospital were able to remove the tumor after the operation, which preceded the implantation of the patient's special artificial piece, as the patient underwent a recovery phase to complete the reconstruction of the gap in the bones of the skull before leaving the hospital.
