The investigation into the murder of Allan Affagard, a dock worker found dead near Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) in June 2020, has recently seen a new development.

Ten people were arrested on Tuesday and have since been in police custody, according to France Inter.

These individuals are suspected of working for drug traffickers who may have ordered the kidnapping and fatal beating of the victim.

The suspects are known to the police to have participated in the past in actions carried out to intimidate, threaten or kidnap dockers or their relatives.

About twenty cases of kidnapping and kidnapping have been recorded over the past three years in and around Le Havre.

Dock workers under pressure

The death of Allan Affagard was followed by a release of the word of the employees of the port of the Norman city.

A white march was organized and dockers openly spoke of the pressures drug traffickers exert on them and their families.

The aim is to convince them to participate in clandestine cocaine unloading operations and then help get the drugs out of the port.

Dozens of employees have already been indicted or convicted in cases of this type.

Allan Affagard had himself been placed under judicial control in 2018. The body of the union delegate of 40 had been found by a passer-by in the parking lot of a school in Montivilliers (Seine-Maritime).

Investigations had shown that he had been kidnapped the day before by three men.

The autopsy had made it possible to determine that the victim had not been tortured, contrary to what had been initially envisaged.
