New Year's Eve is approaching and with it the concern of some car owners is growing.

In Strasbourg last year, more than 200 vehicles were set on fire.

To prevent this from happening again, a municipal decree was signed on December 21 to ban parking on certain streets.

"These zones of interdiction were drawn up following an assessment of the incidents of the preceding years", explains in a press release Nadia Zourgui, assistant in charge of public tranquility.

Nine free and supervised car parks

In return, and for all those who wish, nine free and guarded car parks will be accessible throughout the city.

It starts this Wednesday, December 30 at 3 p.m. in the Zénith, Jardin des Deux Rives and Kibitzenau car parks.

On December 31, always from 3 p.m. and until the next day at the same time, it will also be possible to leave your vehicle in safety at the Baggersee, Elsau, Ducs d'Alsace and Hoenheim station car parks.

Finally, those in Lixenbuhl, in Illkirch, and in the Maria Callas sector, in Lingolsheim, will also be kept and free on December 31.
